Library Policy for Loan of Non-Print Materials

Pre-Elementary and Elementary Students:
Parents of students in the Pre-Elementary and Elementary schools may borrow one (1) non-print material (videocassettes, DVDs and compact discs). In support of the teachers’ and school administration’s advice to parents against television and computer use during the school week, parents may borrow non-print material Friday through Monday and during school holidays. Parents will be issued a patron barcode from the ISI Library in order to borrow materials.

Borrowing and Return Times:

• The 49th Street library is open Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is closed on Mondays. Return non-print material at 49th Street on Monday to your child’s teacher or on Tuesday by 8:00 a.m. to the Library.
• The Blackwell Library is open Friday mornings and from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Return non-print material at Blackwell by 8:00 a.m. Monday.

Middle and High School Students:
Parents of Middle and High School students less than 18 years of age must sign a User Agreement for Loan of Non-Print Material giving their consent that their student may borrow non-print materials. Students in Middle and High School may borrow up to two (2) non-print materials (videocassettes, DVDs and compact discs) at one time, but may not exceed the overall borrowing limit of five (5) items at any given time. Students may borrow non-print materials for one (1) week.

Fines for Non-Print Materials:
If non-print materials are not returned on time, the Borrower will be charged a fine of $3.00 per school day to a maximum of $45.00 (15 days). Thereafter, the item will be deemed lost and the Borrower will be charged the full replacement cost. Borrowing privileges will be suspended until the item is returned and the fine or replacement charge is paid. Fines will be assessed by the ISI Business Office and will appear on the monthly statements to families

LAPTOP CIRCULATION POLICY

Eligibility
International School of Indiana High School students, faculty and staff may borrow a laptop (portable) computer from the High School Library of the International School of Indiana. Parents of all High School students are required to sign a Laptop User Agreement before their student may borrow a laptop computer. The student must surrender his/her student identification card to the Library staff to check out a laptop computer.

Loan Period
Use of the laptop computers by a teacher for a class has priority over individual student use. Laptops may be checked out for a period of 2 hours.

Use of Laptop
Laptop computers are to be used only in the Taurel High School building. Laptop use must comply with school computing policies. The laptop computers should not be left unattended at any time. Users are responsible for any damage or loss of or to the laptop computer and its peripherals. Data should be saved to an external source (flash drive, not floppy disk). Data saved to a laptop’s hard drive may be erased when the computer is returned.

Return of Laptop Computer
When returning the laptop computer, give it to a member of the Library staff and obtain your identification card. Do not leave the laptop computer on the counter of the Circulation Desk.
